Ready for some bummer news? Most shoe soles are made with plastics. And plastics are made from oil, a fossil fuel that’s accelerating climate change. Yeah, not great. Thankfully, Allbirds figured out how to make a shoe sole with sugarcane, a radical, renewable natural material that’s much friendlier to our one and only Planet Earth.
